Miranda Bakery & Cafe

On this occasion I went to Miranda’s specifically to try their Pastrami on Rye. Being a New Yorker I had something in mind already and through their Instagram page I was kinda challenged to try it. The sandwich is a very good sandwich, but it could have been an exceptionally great sandwich if the emphasis was on the pastrami and not on the bread. The bread was overly buttered and overpowered the taste. The meat was really secondary. The bread is cut thick and toasted. There is one slice of cheese. But the meat is a smallish portion. I calculate less than a 6 ounce stack. There were bites, especially away from the center that were all greasy toasted bread and cheese, with no pastrami. The meat itself was tender, but I could not distinguish the classic coriander, pepper, brine and smoke taste that is pastrami. I will go back and request the pastrami on untoasted rye bread with no cheese to really try to taste the meat.

Miranda's Bakery & Cafe is a great little cafe that serves a limited menu but does it very well. The Americano Burger is fantastic. Every detail is good. The meat is tender and flavorful, the bun holds up well and the toppings; bacon & friend egg are perfectly cooked. The grilled cheese is made with a great brioche bread but, in my opinion, could be better with more cheese. The ratio of bread to cheese is way to high. Slice the bread thinner, or add more cheese. The rosemary french fries are very goo as well as the sweet potato fries. Miranda's used to be only open till 3:00pm, now they are open till 6:45pm during the week, making it a good place to get a bite in between lunch and dinner. My only complaint and it is a strong one, is that the parking situation is atrocious. Twice we had to be interrupted to move our car in order for another patron to leave. We would have spent more time inside, ordering dessert and coffee, but decided we did not want to be bothered again.

Miranda Bakery & Cafe is a place to go for casual dining. Only really open for lunch and late afternoon snack. The menu is limited, but from what I ordered, done well. I ordered the classic American burger. It arrived as I had ordered; Medium, nice slight crust with a pink interior. The bun was perfect for the burger. The accompanying fries were seasoned with rosemary which was excellent. I want to go back to try the other sandwiches. I am really waiting to try the prime rib sandwich.....

Lo más importante aquí es llegar temprano, el lugar se llena rápido y si llegan tarde posiblemente algunas cosas estén agotadas, he ido con familiares y amigos quienes han quedado fascinados con todo lo que piden, los sabores siempre tienen ese toque adicional que no se encuentra fácilmente en otros lugares, el servicio es bueno no obstante cuando se llena el lugar demoran un poco más de lo normal.

Excelente Restaurante de comida Americana y Pastelería. Agradable ambiente. Buena atención de los meseros. Esta vez nos atendió el señor Agustin. Fuimos a una merienda. Pedimos Croissant, Orejitas Muffins, café con leche y café Espresso. Todo muy bueno. Se recomienda.
