Went here last night and all I can say initially is "WOW". I had no expectations other than a friends recommendation who loves good food and interesting spicy food. As soon as I heard that the chef was Persian I was excited. As we were walking in someone told us they close in 10 minutes but the second we met the waiter nothing was a problem. We only couldn't have the unleavened breads as they had just turned off the kiln/oven. So we sat down and started pouring over the menu...lots of Middle Eastern delights...some you'd recognise from other similar restaurants here which do Lebanese, but also some Thai, Indian...and also Iranian....plus there were some Western foods, presumably for lunchtime crowds. Anyway, we dived in and ordered humous, babbaganoush and some lamb kebabs to start. The humous had (in my humble opinion) too much tahini but it was still good...the babbaganoush was pretty good also, but the lamb kebabs were amazing! We followed with an Iranian minced meat dish (sorry can't remember the name) that sat on a whole split roasted smoked eggplant with some rice. The flavour was amazing...with a kind of sweet, fragrant taste...and which went with the eggplant amazingly well. The other dish we had was like a chicken satay but with cooked onions and the sauce was really rich and tasted like it had chicken livers cooked into it. This was very good also. The combination of the two dishes, and their differences, was amazing...when you ate one, you craved the other...and back and forth. We also ordered a "take out" tandoori chicken which tasted very authentic and was very well spiced. Having dined in many so-called "spicy" restaurants in Panama...this seems like the real deal with some proper spicy food on the menu and no need to ask the chef to spice it up more etc. They don't serve alcohol which is a bit of a pain, but they have everything else. The service was excellent: attentive, quick and very accomodating...I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!!
