Beirut (Area Bancaria)

Ok...it's a little cliche'd...and you feel like you are walking into the best party going on in the middle of the desert...but this is a great restaurant with fantastic entertainment value. Quick! Put down your falafel! The belly dancer needs you to 'try' and put a dollar in her waistband before your food goes cold! The service is excellent and very quick, the food is consistently good, nice lemonade (sorry for mentioning this often...but it's true...and I like lemonade!). The music is often louder than I'm sure most would wish...but it adds to the overall experience...and if you want to get up and show off the latest moves you learnt from the last wedding/bar mitzvah you were at, then here's the place to do it. Special note: the bongo drum (maybe that's not exactly what it's called) player is extremely good! Delicious hummus, babaganoush, marinated and grilled meats (pieces of filete and chicken especially), great unleavened pita bread...all not expensive and with great free entertainment...a must visit restaurant! [Note: sorry to say this but the 'other' Beirut on the Causeway is a shadow of this City centre place...food, entertainment...everything...there is only one worth going to...]

Lugar agradable entre semana o fin de semana, solo o con amigos, tiene buen servicio, el dip de garbanzos es excelente, no me gusta la musica en la parte interior, nada que ver con el lugar pero se respeta el gusto, mas que la musica es el volumen alto, no puedes conversar

Fui a Beirut porque pensé que por ser tan nombrado, sería el mejor en su tipo en Panamá. Les cuento que lastimosamente no llenó mis expectativas. Me pareció muy caro para el nivel de la comida. El ambiente es agradable. Las belly dancers amenizando el sitio estuvo bien. Los saloneros no estaban atentos a nuestra mesa. Fuimos 3 personas, pedimos sólo entradas y un par de cervezas cada uno. Pagamos 70 dólares. El pan pita que nos sirvieron estaba tostado y hasta un poco quemado. De resto, las hojas de uva, el falafel, todo normal. No les recomiendo unos patacones al ajillo que ofrecen. Estaban mojados por el exceso de guarnición y fríos. Mucho que desear Beirut. Tal vez habría que probar un plato especial, pero las entradas tradicionales que venden en cualquier sitio libanés, no llegó al nivel esperado por mi y mis acompañantes. Lo siento, pero no volvería. Lo puedo recomendar para ir a pasar un rato en un ambiente distinto, espero que les vaya mejor que a mi.

Me gusta mucho la comida libanesa... les recomiendo el pulpo.
