Enkai
A very good Peruvian restaurant in Panama. Located in Casco Viejo, a very know neighborhood for its parties, discos and restaurants. This restaurant has a proposal to mix Peruvian, Japanese and Panamanian gastronomy. The result is awesome. Very good options to try. Very good service and attention. The chef Masaki himself came to introduce him and explain some of the options and the history behind the restaurant. A very friendly person that shows his passion for creating impressive plates. In this occasion we ordered a “Buta no Kaka I”, which is a 24hs braised pork belly in Japanese style. And we also ordered an Enkai Omakase for 2. Both delicious. To finish we order a Merengado Nikkei as a desert. Strongly recommended.
Tony Roma`s (Multiplaza)
I always have good meals at Tony Romas, usually burgers and ribs. This time was not different. Very good service, food and ambiance. We ordered a combo of short ribs and chicken fingers to share and a potato soup. Both were delicious. What impressed me was that the waiter informed us previously that the soup was not good and another order must be prepared and would take longer. That is the kind of service we expect. No matter if there is a problem, if you are informed you can agree and wait. That was extremely gentle from his part. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Brava Pizza & Espuma (Town Center)
First bad experience at Pizza Brava. Not because of the service, which sometimes we can face. But I cannot understand and tolerate a bad pizza. We ordered the one which is the house pizza, called Brava. Made with mozzarella, jamon serrano, arugula, parmesan and dried tomatoes. The problem was that the pizza came semi cooked. Even cold. The dough was not crispy, the cheese was not melting. I made a complain but did not allow them to put in the oven again. Big mistake. But usually the pizzas are really good and for sure I will go back.
PAUL (Multiplaza)
Not my first time at this restaurant, and I was not impressed mainly because of the service. We tried again and this time was better but not what I expect from this kind of restaurant. I had a prosciutto sandwich which was delicious and a red fruits juice (strawberries, blackberries and raspberries). I ordered a vanilla cake that was awesome.
Muh Panamá
One of the best steak house in Panama. Plenty of options of angus choice USA and local premium steak as well. I had tried the cowboy steak before so this time we went for something small. As entry we ordered a choripan, which is a trio of different sausages with a mini baguette bread and some sauce. As a main order, I tried the entrana sandwich, which was pretty good. Not cheap, but reasonable as you will get very high standard quality steak.
Bad Gallo
Another HH with friends at Bad Gallo. Nice place, nice food and nice service. We ordered all to share: cheese empanadas (for me the best), provolone a la paila, wings with bbq sauce and special house sauce and costillar de cerdo. I strongly recommend this place for a get together with friends and family.
Churrasco Argentino By Caminito`s
A very good restaurant in terms of food and service. The place for me is too small for the amount of chairs and tables they put together, making it to noisy, overcrowded, and not comfortable. They offer very good choices of steak, both national brand and a Angus Prime option. I tried the national cut rib eye with manioc. Super delicious. As an entry I had the "Empanadas copetines" that were very good as well.
Tamarindos
Best restaurant in the cost/benefit ratio. Full meal from $6.99 to $12.99. My first option to have lunch at Costa del Este. It is like a self service restaurant, one choose the protein and 3 side dishes. As protein you can choose from chicken, ribs, fish and usually something special like picanha or crispy pork. As side dishes you can choose salad, rice, potato, steamed vegetables, etc. Not fancy but the food is well prepared and tasteful. The price varies on the protein one choose.
Hikaru (Marbella)
Once again at Hikaru, after a long time absent. Some changes in the menu but they keep the same fundaments: traditional Japanese food. I ordered a portion of Guioza, which were fantastic, as usual. And a Combined Sushi, which was awesome. No complains and super satisfied. Service were flawless as well. Have in mind that it is important to make a reservation, as the place is super small, with restricted space for parking too. But it is worth trying!!!
Miss Cho
Really impressed by this restaurant. Not a fan of too much of what is now called fusion cuisine. But this one got my attention. Nice place, well located with plenty of parking lots and security. The restaurant itself is very modern and a little bit overwhelming in terms of ambience. Noisy and with lots of lights, TVs, the roof has its own led panel as well as the walls. The service was a little slow, but it was really crowded and you can see people trying their best to make customers welcome. The rolls were amazingly tasteful, with the right combination (fusion) of different ingredients. We tried the Three Fish Roll and the Cho Roll. Both of them fantastic. The Wagyu Guioza was super as well. I strongly recommend.
